TOUR DESCRIPTION

Day 1 (Thu, 13 Feb): SAIGON ARRIVAL (D)
Arrive Tan Son Nhat airport in Saigon, welcome by Venue Vietnam tour guide and being transferred to hotel in the city center for checking-in. Take a short walking tour in main streets of the city center to feel the busy and bustling atmosphere of those last days before Tet. Welcome dinner and O/N Saigon.

Day 2 (Wed, 14 Feb): SAIGON – MEKONG DELTA – VINH LONG Homestay (B/L/D)

Depart for Mekong Delta. Our destination today is Vinh Long town. Upon arrival in Cai Be, we take our private cruise to visit some villages of handicraft that are located along the Mekong Upper river. Have your lunch with 'Elephant Ear Fish' at Mr. Sau Giao garden. After lunch we take a rowing boat to our homestay where we will spend our night. After dinner, sit back to enjoy a traditional music show that is performed by the band from the village. Overnight in Homestay of Vinh Long.

Day 3 (Thu, 15 Feb): VINH LONG – SAIGON (B/L/D)

Farewell the local family then cruise to the other side of the Mekong river - Vinh Long. Visit Vinh Long markets and a few more different handicraft villages. Our waiting van will take us back to Saigon after docking at Vinh Long pier. Stop over in Trung Luong for lunch. Arrive in Saigon. Rest of the day is free for shopping or wandering around town. Overnight in Saigon.

Day 4 (Fri, 16 Feb): SAIGON – NEW YEAR EVE (B/L/D)

The bustling metropolis of Saigon is crowded with bikes and motorbikes, excited by numerous shopping area and sidewalk cafés. And it's rather wonderful to have an orientation tour of the city on the second day of the new year today.

Ho Chi Minh City has been in a bustling preparation of interesting cultural activities for the Tet (lunar New Year) 2007 since the early Feb. Nguyen Hue Flower Street, one of the events receiving the highest expectations of the public, will take place from February 15 to 19. So this is your great chance to see this wonderful work.

So start a full day city tour today by strolling along this street and enjoy the special atmosphere of the traditional Tet festival with local people. Continue to those striking French colonial structures including the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Old Sai Gon Post Office.

After lunch, we continue our trip visit Thien Hau pagoda, a very famous Chinese pagoda and pray for the good things in the coming year. Go on to a specific section that does not exist in any other city of Vietnam – a bustling China Town, where every board is in two languages – Chinese and Vietnamese, and so are the communication languages of the inhabitants. In the centre of this exciting area is a grandiose market : “Cho Lon”, i.e. The Big Market.

After dinner, we fall in line with people heading forward to the city center and wait for the Eve time in a very crowded and excited atmosphere. Firecracker and many interesting activities will be held to welcome new year at 12am. Back to your hotel in early morning for your relaxation. O/N in Saigon.

Day 5 (Sat, 17 Feb): SAIGON 1^st DAY OF THE LUNAR NEW YEAR – DEPARTURE (B/L)

It’s time to wear the new clothes, to pay mutual respects on Tet, saying ‘CHUC MUNG NAM MOI’, give and take the red lucky packet (bao li xi) to each other.

We pick you up around 9am in the morning. Vietnamese concept that their new year depends on the first person coming their home in the first day of year so it’s better we are not their. We visit a family to see what they do in this special day. Children’ ve been waiting for this day for all year. You’ll see why when you attend a special rite with them here. Have lunch with family and you will be invited to try Vietnamese’s delicious specialties only used for Tet.

Say goodbye to the local people then you will be transferred to the airport to take flight leaving Vietnam. We hope that you have enjoyed memorable moments with us and look forward to welcome you back.
