TOUR DESCRIPTION

Day 1 (Mon, 12 Feb): HANOI ARRIVAL - CITY TOUR (B)

Arrive at Noi Bai Airport. Pick up and transfer to a hotel. If time permits, our tour guide will show you Hanoi, the capital boasts tree-lined streets and centuries-old temples. An afternoon sightseeing tour features both cultural and historical highlights, comprising the Temple of Literature, the Ethnology Museum. The sightseeing day ends with a water puppet show, a theatrical genre reflecting the agricultural civilization of thousands of years ago. O/N in Hanoi.

Day 2 (Tue, 13 Feb): HANOI WAITING FOR TET (B/L/D)

Our tour guide will wake you very early in the morning(3am) and transfer to the Flower Market and enjoy the unique atmosphere here. You will no dounbt be introduced to various kinds of flowers from Hanoi and suburb. The sellers bring them here by bycicles, shoulder-poles, pedals and many other kinds of vehicles. The fresh air mixed with the fragrance of flowers will give tourists an unforgettable impression. We back the city when the streets are still in silent and witness a new day of people in Hanoi’s Old Quarter where you could feel the Tet atmosphere most clearly. Have breakfast, then old quarters and downtown pedicab ride. The unique ride will begin at Hoan Liem Lake and Ngoc Son temple, stroll around the streets of vivid colors and full of goods for Tet. You’ll see the street of marmalade, cakes, sugar-dried fruits; a quarter of offerings, another of decorations or a smelled street of incense... During the time before Tet, this is the busiest center for shopping. O/N in Hanoi.

Day 3 (Wed, 14 Feb): HANOI - MAI CHAU 150km (B/L/D)

Drive to Mai Chau, sight seeing en-route. Lunch in Mai Chau, walk around the Mai Chau valley to visit the villages of Thai people with house on stilt, embroidery art and home stay with hill tribe people, enjoy their common life and activities. Overnight in Mai Chau.

Day 4 (Thu, 15 Feb): MOC CHAU - SON LA - TUAN GIAO - DIEN BIEN PHU - 300km (B/L/D)

Drive to Son La, a stop in Moc Chau with hundreds of giant grass farm for cows..visit the ancient prison in the French war period. Stop for lunch in Tuan Giao.

Continue onto Dien Bien, enjoy the wonderful scenery in Pha Din pass. Overnight in Dien Bien.

Day 5 (Fri, 16 Feb): DIEN BIEN PHU - LAI CHAU - TAM DUONG - 200km (B/L/D)

Visit the old battle field in the French colonial period, war museum, Muong Thanh airbase.

Drive throughout Lai Chau for Tam Duong, on this day you'll have a chance to see the most beautiful hill tribes in Northern Vietnam such as H'Mong, Black Thai, Black Dzao, Pazi..

Join the New Year Eve with local people in Tam Duong. Overnight in Tam Duong.

Day 6 (Sat, 17 Feb): 1st DAY of Lunar New Year - TAM DUONG - SAPA (B/L/D)

It’s time to wear the new clothes, to pay mutual respects on Tet, saying ‘CHUC MUNG NAM MOI’, give and take the red lucky packet (bao li xi) to each other. Take a 3-hour trek to hill tribe villages around Tam Duong to enjoy the Tet atmosphere of hill tribes here then drive to Sapa. Check in and lunch.

Afternoon, take a short walk around Sapa, Dragon Mountain, Sapa valley, Cat Cat stream...Overnight in Sapa.

Day 7 (Sun, 18 Feb): SAPA - BAC HA(B/L/D)

Morning depart Sapa for Bac ha. Here, hill tribe people from far and wide make the weekly journey to trade goods at the busy Sunday market, their heavily embroidered clothing and distinctive headdress adding color and vibrancy.

Short walk around Bac Ha town to visit local people. Dinner and O/N Bac Ha.

Day 8 (Mon, 19 Feb): BAC HA - HANOI (B/L/-)

Leaving the town behind, we descend the scenic mountain roads and return to Ha Noi. Arrive Hanoi in the evening. Check-in hotel and relax. Dinner at your own arrangement for more flexibility. O/N Hanoi.

Day 9 (Tue, 20 Feb): HANOI DEPARTURE (B)

A good opportunity to do some last minute shopping before your transfer to Ha Noi Airport for the departure flight. We hope that you have enjoyed your time with us during our Tet Holiday and look forward to welcome you back.
